Buying Local

Recently, Fayette County received the Entrepreneur Friendly Designation from the Georgia Department of Economic Development.

As part of that we surveyed local entrepreneurs on what we could do better in the community to help their business succeed.

One item that came up was a “Buy Local” program.

“Buy Local” programs are great ways to keep your local economy strong, but they can be hard to implement.

In looking at other communities’ similar programs, I came across this great grassroots site in Iowa.

They even have a little homemade video about the program:

I thought this was pretty cool.
