Exporting 101 Seminar Recap
George Tracy, with the US Dept of Commerce's Commercial Service division, speaks to attendees about programs his organization offers, including setting up meetings with foreign businesses for as little as $700.
On Thursday, August 7, the FCDA, along with the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce, hosted a seminar titled, “Exporting 101 – Tips for Exporting Your Products or Services.”
The event covered topics such as the basics of exporting, programs available to assist companies looking to export for the first time, hints and tips in doing international business and a detailed outline on working with international buyers of goods and how the international payment process works.
Speakers included Georgia Department of Economic Development International Trade Representative Taube Ponce, Rick Martin with the UGA Small Business Development Center’s International Trade Division, George Tracy with the US Department of Commerce’s US Commercial Service division and Mike Filchock with SunTrust Bank’s Global Trade Solutions department.
