FCDA Releases 2008 End of the Year Report

What a year 2008 was!

Fayette County saw both the good and the bad in economic development. Our largest employer, Panasonic Automotive, announced they would be laying off 500 employees from its manufacturing facility, starting in late winter of 2009.

At the same time, FCDA helped four companies choose to locating operations in Fayette County, bringing over 700 jobs and over $30 million in investment. The largest of these is the location of the Worldwide Center of Excellence in Customer Service for NCR. They’ll be bringing over 600 IT and customer service positions to Peachtree City.

We also have some strong projects currently looking at Fayette County and we hope to have some additional announcements next year.
