Who is interested in Fayette County?

So this site, fayettega.org, has been up a little over a year now in the relaunched format. In that time, we have seen nearly 50,000 visits, with 60% of those being from first time visitors. In total, these visitors have made 235,000 page views.

What areas of our site are people interested in?

  • By far, more people come to our site to look at our job listings than anything else. Of the top ten viewed pages on our site, jobs related pages account for five of those sites. In fact, nearly half o four total page views, 109,000, occurred on one of our jobs pages. Employers looking to advertise locally can’t beat the value they get from our site – It’s FREE!
  • Our home page is the second most popular category.
  • Our searchable business listings are the third most popular section, allowing people to see what businesses are in Fayette County. If your business is in Fayette County and you’re not listed, drop us an email and we’d be happy to list you.

For a little more information on the visitors to our site, here’s breakdown.

Our site is visited by males, slightly more than by females, but not by a huge margin. In all of the below charts, the black bar on the right indicates the average level of visitors for that demographic, an index measurement of 100.

The largest percentage of visitors are between the ages of 35 and 49, 46% in fact. Here we recognize that it’s good that we’re not trying to sell items to tweens.

Caucasians make up 62% of our audience, but the more interesting fact is that African Americans and Asians, though only 18% and 9% respectively of our audience, are both 2x more likely to visit our site than would be expected.

Sixty percent of our audience does not have children between the ages of 0 and 17, which would match well with our older viewing demographic.

Sixty percent of our audience also makes less than $60,000.

Sixty-one percent of our audience has some level of college education.

Thanks to Quantcast.org for the demographics.
