Happy New Year from the FCDA!

We hope your 2008 is as great or better than our 2007 was.

A quick recap of our 2007:

We had 53 companies contact us through various sources, including state-wide project managers, real estate brokers and direct contact. That’s nearly 4.5 companies per month.

Of those 53 companies, 43 asked for more detailed proposals from FCDA about site location opportunities in the county.

Of those 43 companies, 32 made a point to meet with FCDA and visit Fayette County.

Of those 32, 8 chose to locate their operation in Fayette County. Another 15 are still considered active and on-going.

Our largest location in 2007 was Sany America, a Chinese company who will develop a US HQ facility and US assembly site for producing heavy construction equipment in Peachtree City. Their initial plan is to invest over $30 million and hire up to 200 people.

We’re already excited about our 2008. In January alone we’ve already visited with 8 prospects, nearly double our monthly average from last year.

We’ll do our best to keep you updated as the year goes on.

We’re going to do our best to start sending this revised newsletter out on a monthly basis.

It’s arranged into an announcement section (this one), a listing of News Stories from our website, a selection of featured commercial properties and a few of the jobs that are posted on our website, www.fayettega.org.
